Amanda Kaufold

Before joining Ray, Mitev & Associates in 2013, Ms. Kaufold interned in New York City, in the public sector, for the Office of the Attorney General and the United States Environmental Protection Agency. Locally, she interned for the Department of Environmental Conservation, Region 1, in Stony Brook. Since that time she has appeared in courts throughout the State of New York, on cases concerning Grand Larceny, trade secrets, DUIs, and multi-million dollar personal injury lawsuits.

She advocates fiercely for her client’s rights, and has taken several cases to the appellate court. Ms. Kaufold devotes a majority of her daily practice to the firm’s commercial contract and construction company clients and utilizes all phases of litigation and alternative dispute resolution, including discovery, arbitration, and mediation. She also practices in areas of Estate Planning and Probate. She routinely prepares simple estate plans as well as complicated Wills for individuals who require wealth protection.

As second chair during the trial in the Matter of the Estate of Michael Klein, Ms. Kaufold assisted with establishing the case’s complicated fact pattern. As part of trial preparation she reviewed transcripts and spoke with FBI Agents, NYPD Cold Case Detectives, and the Assistant U.S. Attorneys whose recollections surrounding the investigation of the mysterious disappearance of Michael Klein helped lead to the eventual declaration of death, allowing Petitioner to probate the Will.

Ms. Kaufold is a proud graduate of Sacred Heart University, where she double majored in Philosophy and Media Studies. She earned her J.D. at Pace University School of Law, where she graduated cum laude and holds a Certificate of Environmental Law. She was also Articles Editor of Pace Environmental Law Review.

Ms. Kaufold is a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association. She and her husband are long-time residents of Long Island and live on several acres of land that have become home to a plethora of kittens. She practices power yoga and Pilates in her spare time and is a seasoned floral designer.
